Home to approximately 5,000 residents, Burnside Gorge is a neighbourhood of varied uses.

 

This neighbourhood is home to the Cecilia Ravine Sports Court and Bike Skills Park, Point Ellice House Museum, the Selkirk Trestle and Selkirk Waterway development. The Gorge Rowing and Paddling Club is located along the Selkirk Waterway.
 

Burnside Gorge also has much of the City's industrial and commercial property with warehouse and distribution centres, car dealerships, a regional shopping centre, hotels and motels. The City's Public Works yard and the BC Transit transfer station are also located here.

 

The residents of Burnside Gorge are served by the Burnside Gorge Community Association, housed in the Burnside Gorge Community Centre.

 

Burnside Gorge is located immediately north of downtown - a gateway to Victoria, traversed by a number of major traffic corridors.
